So yeah, so far yall saw the metal side but the truth is that im also a jazz/classical enjoyer and sometimes listen to other things too. But 85% of the time is always metal bcs thats my fav type of music.
So here, ill present you this:
If you like jazz, you def should check out that channels content. They have been doing lives on yt pretty much everyday since the end of last year and i usually keep up with them.
Nice! A friend of mine introduced me to them last year and I had been listening to them on repeat for quite some time. I tend to listen to that song when I'm in not such a good mood. Always works wonders!
Was supposed to see Amon Amarth last year but covid took the festival down
They do get some hate but i like them. I like pretty much all their phases. The newest album is cool too.
Worth to mention that their live performances are rly something.
Lol, I wouldn't really say that as my taste in metal can be quite versatile. I'm just feeling in the mood to listen to them now!
That's really unfortunate.. a friend of mine was supposed to go to an Iron Maiden concert last year too but couldn't due to Covid-19.
Can you tell me why they would get hate? I appreciate their music a lot, I resonate with it so well. I agree!
I could only watch their live performances on YouTube, unfortunately I am yet to see them live but hopefully soon who knows?

Just like slipknot and so on, Amon Amarth kinda attracts the ppl of mainstream too.
The main reason is that they rly go on with the viking visual and and their melodies can be quite appealing sometimes. And they are a bit hated within the metal community bcs of that.
But that community in general is well known for elitisms and such. I am too sometimes but i do like Amon Amarth, have no problems in wearing the shirt and saying.
Not only them but for the past years the term "Viking Metal" has arised a lot being them one of the main reasons since they have a big audience. Most ppl dont like that term, me included bcs it just says its viking and point. When in fact they are melodic death metal with viking themes. Other examples of "Viking metal" are Ensalved (old school death metal), Gwydion (folkish death metal) and a big part od the black metal scene.
@Otakvlt
Sounds plausible with Slipknot but didn't have the impression that Amon Amarth would attract mainstream people.
It is appealing yes, but this is not the reason why I actually listened to them in the first place. I've know that group for 11 years now.
I used to have a friend who was an metal elitist we got along pretty well actually and his attitude kind of rubbed off on me, but I can tell you that I have absolutely no interest in what that community. You're doing right by not paying attention to what people say.
I myself dislike the term "viking metal". I read somewhere Amon Amarth dismissed the term viking metal as well and as you said they are melodeath with vikings themes.
You mentioned some good examples there!

Nice merch you have there btw. :D
Yes, they also said that they reject the therm multiple times on interviews and such.
And hell yeah, you know them for a while, so you know that their early phase was good af too. Them early albums are gems of old school death. They became more melodic with time but didnt lose much of the quality, in fact they kinda earned imo.
And thank you haha
We had a good conversation here. Ill add you. haha
No matter how often I listen to this, I get myself demolished every single time.
Shit hahaha
I saw that guy rising during my highschool times. He did some sick covers back then. Havent keep up with the his works but im not a big fan of the style he focuses on.
I like their attitude to reject that term is really something haha.
Remember that metal elitist? He was the introducing me to them such a long time ago. So yes, I'm very familiar with their older stuff. :D Back in the days I wanted to listen to music so heavy that it hurt but now I myself have become a bit more tame so I enjoy their melodeath style a lot.
No worries, you're very welcome!
Sure you can add me. :D I also enjoyed our conversation we had here haha.
Last one for today.
